Voices from the Energy Lab
Real words from women inside the Lab — on what changes when you're no longer figuring it out alone.
“I can engage when I can, and disengage when I can't” For me, the most helpful part of the group has been the chance to connect with other people who struggle in similar ways. My friends are kind and supportive, but there's nothing quite like chatting with other people who get it from first-hand experience. It had never occurred to me to join a chronic fatigue support group. And if it had, I would have written it off as "one more thing to do that I don't have energy for." This format is perfect. I can engage when I can, and disengage when I can't. I don't have to go anywhere, be "on," sit still in an upright position or shower. I don't even need to get out of bed to participate! My other favorite part is the chance to interact with the Welltory team and the doctors. I have been collecting Welltory data for so long and not knowing what to do with so much of it. I knew I had a wealth of info about my body from the app, but I did not have someone I could talk to who understood what to do with that data.
“I feel less alone — a place where people genuinely get it” Living with fatigue can be incredibly isolating. Reading posts from people who describe exactly what you're going through is validating in a way that's hard to explain. People are kind, curious, and supportive, and that makes it much easier to be vulnerable and share experiences that are often difficult to put into words. What I particularly appreciate about this community is that the conversations go both ways. The Welltory team seems genuinely interested in our experiences and feedback, and I've already seen discussions turn into improvements or new ideas. There's a real openness to exploring ideas together. Overall, what's different for me now is that I feel less alone. I have a place where people genuinely get it, and where I feel seen. And I've already learned a lot — both from the Welltory team and from other members who openly share their experiences.
“I feel seen. I'm learning to listen to my body” This community means a great deal to me. Before joining the group, I felt very alone in a number of ways, and was doing my best to try and make connections between my numbers and how I felt on a day-to-day basis. This group has shown me I am not alone. I feel seen. Because of this group, I am learning how to listen to my body more and to understand my diagnoses better. Let me give you one example: before joining the group, I suspected that my PSNS staying stuck at 10 was due to my dysautonomia diagnosis. Once I joined the group, I noticed others with dysautonomia have the same pattern. I no longer felt alone. Another example: before joining the group, I suspected that dips in my health score might be a sign of migraine prodrome. I noticed others mention they have a similar pattern. Now, I take my migraine meds at the first sign of a dip and have experienced fewer migraines in the last few weeks.
“My physical quirks are worthy of attention” I think the top two things that are different are: I'm more motivated to learn how to pace my activities, and I'm discovering that my physical quirks are worthy of investigation and attention.
“All of us feel we're helping to shape something special” I've had fibromyalgia most of my adult life, but I functioned at ~90% for many years — working crazy hours, exercising, traveling extensively. I was the classic Type A personality. Starting in 2021–2023, I was diagnosed with both relapsing/remitting MS and an inflammatory adipose tissue condition. Nothing would ever be the same. Though I am still fully mobile, I've experienced many side effects and limitations that have forced me to rethink every aspect of my life. I medically retired in late 2024 from the tech/fintech industry, where no decision is made without extensive data analysis. At my periodic doctor visits, I was shocked that every bit of "monitoring" was sporadic and backward-looking — not leading-edge or daily, and none of it was designed to spot daily health trends. As a big wearables fan, I decided to put together my own dashboards with key categories: cardiovascular, autonomic, mobility, and stress/sleep. I found Welltory when I retired, and together with my wearable data it's provided a wealth of information to guide me — a full 360-degree picture of my day-to-day health. When Welltory advertised they were looking for women with energy-limiting conditions, I couldn't sign up fast enough. I'm directly sharing with the Welltory product team my own metrics, how I use my data, and the stories behind my trends. Welltory also launched beta features for the group to test. All of us feel we are helping to shape something special. Having the chance to interact with other women who have similar conditions — and who are all data nuts — has been so touching and rewarding. I have loved this experience.
“Feels more at home than my best friend from college” If I were asked for the short answer: this group makes me feel more at home than talking to my best friend from college. There is a level of "aha" combined with "yep, exactly" and "ohh, I never thought about that" — all rolled into a safe place that blends humor, understanding and support.
“Metrics on what I feel — it helped me pace better” I really appreciate that this community and this app allow me to put metrics on what I feel. This has definitely helped me learn how to pace better. I greatly appreciate what you guys are doing!

Why Us
We've spent 10 years analyzing nervous system signals at scale. When we build for complex conditions, we build on evidence.

Why are we doing this now?
For years we built for healthy people, while millions of you were using the app just to survive your day.
When I saw that, I pulled our best people into a room and said: fix this. Build for the people who actually need us. Not a feature but a completely different approach.
This is it.
While I was trying to understand this myself, I went through every piece of research I could find - and put it all together in one guide, for you. Download it below.
